We used Alpha Damp Proofing to deal with a damp problem in our home. The service was excellent. The men who came to our home worked cleanly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend them without hesitation! I have felt it necessary to write to you as the owner of the above company. As you are aware, having had a lengthy discussion with myself I moved into a property in February 2012 with my partner. It soon became apparent due to the age of the house that there would be an element of work required, in particular Damp Proof Course if we were to decorate the relevant rooms and hope that it remained that way, however to our annoyance having decorated one of the main rooms, the damp within the walls spoilt it throughout as at the time there were no obvious signs of damp.
As a result of this, I am delighted that this issue has been rectified by yourself conducting the work required. I now have DPC in my dining room and living room which has been treated for these 'salts' that were showing on the wall, rendered with the relevant mix and re-plastered to an absolute excellent standard. As a result of this and your personal and professional approach combined with reasonable prices compared with other companies, I would highly recommend you to anybody. Recently I have had a laminate floor fitted by yourself, once again this was quality work and went very well to the choice of colour which I am pleased to say goes exceptionally well with my divider doors you also fitted. As a result of this quality work and hard-working family business, I, along with my partner, have decided to have a little more work done on the house. It is without doubt who we shall choose to carry this out, as we are both more than happy that you will quote and carry out the work with the care and consideration you have shown in the past. I have been really impressed with Darren and his team from my initial contact with Alpha Damp Proofing through to the work being completed. Darren visited my cottage to quote me on the work required very promptly (compared to others) and explained everything thoroughly. We found Darren to be a fully professional and pleasant tradesman who throughout the work kept us fully informed as to what was going on and the outcome. We encountered quite a severe damp problem that had gone on for several years. The previous owners had not dealt with this problem. We therefore had to employ someone to remedy this and get to the heart of the problem. We were very satisfied with the professional work carried out and now have rectified all the damp issues thankfully! My downstairs toilet and utility area has been completely transformed by Darren. I could not believe my luck in finding someone who could not only treat the damp problem but also complete all the necessary refurbishment (insulate the walls/ceiling, plastering, tile the floor, fit new toilet, fit new toilet door and frame, re-plumb washing machine). All of this work has been done to a high standard and in a very professional and pleasant manner. Darren kept me informed along the way and provided advice/suggestions when and where necessary. After approaching numerous, so called, damp proof companies & individuals, I rang "Alpha Damp Proofing "with a degree of quiet despair! The owner/director, Darren Earl, instantly conveyed a phone manner of calm, non-pushy professionalism that instilled trust; upon surveying our property he displayed a ready comprehension of the problems and, with quick thinking, a succinct summary of the required work. Soon, two competitively priced invoices came via email. Work was promptly undertaken and executed with an inspiring thoroughness and efficiency, with no job being too big or small. For example: trouble was taken to dump household items; to clear outside and in as a preparation to, and during, damp course treatment; cleaning after each day gruelling work was commendable. Mr Earl even assisted us in purchasing a good quality laminate which was, miraculously, laid in the duration of nine hours during a heatwave! Now, I and, my family, are delighted by our new living area! Finally, the team is made up of family and friends, which results in a rare synergy.
